Compensation: $57,784.00, Non-exempt, Full-time

Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday, 9am – 5:30pm, with required flexibility for evening and weekend events

Description of the Work
The Events and Volunteer Specialist ensures successful community events and activities, accurate data tracking, and meaningful volunteer engagement for Rocky Mountain Equality (RMEQ) under the leadership of the Community Events and Volunteer Manager.
As needed they will provide administrative, logical, and communications support for events, activities, and volunteer engagement. This position plays a vital role in recruiting and training volunteers who share in the vision, mission, and values of RMEQ. By working closely with partnering community organizations, volunteers, and staff, the Events and Volunteer Specialist has the opportunity to help create environments that advocate for and support the LGBTQ+ community.
Essential Functions
Plays a key role in planning and executing Pride month events and activities including assisting with permitting and other paperwork as needed.
Works closely with the Community Events and Volunteer Manager to provide support with event planning, setup, coordination, and follow-up activities.
Frequently organizes and/or attends events and activities, including advocacy events and trainings, that are often outside of normal work hours.
Recruits, supports, and coordinates volunteers for RMEQ programs, events, activities, and community initiatives.
Mentors Youth Program interns in event planning and execution.
Frequently travels to RMEQ and third-party events in Boulder, Denver, Longmont, Loveland, Lyons, Fort Collins, and other locations throughout Northern Colorado to table and support staff leads.
Represents RMEQ in a professional and mission-driven manner at events and volunteer activities.
Provides additional administrative support as needed, including data entry and reporting.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
2–4 years of experience in volunteer coordination, event planning, nonprofit work, or a related field preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Computer proficiency required, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Google Drive. CRM experience preferred.
High level of organization and attention to detail.
The ability to lift over 50lbs as you’ll be setting up and breaking down equipment at events.
Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends for events and volunteer activities.
Typically required to work two weekends a month, with May, June, and October likely requiring at least three weekends. To accommodate this, your work week will be Tuesday – Saturday.
Must have a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
Must have access to reliable transportation.
