Celebrating Pride Month across Colorado reminds us that even though we face many challenges as a community, we do not face these struggles alone. Rocky Mountain Equality (RMEQ) has spent Pride continuing to fight for justice, fueled by the support of thousands of community members continuing to show up for one another.
What we have been up to:
Pride is a celebration, but it’s also a protest. RMEQ has carried that spirit through our Pride events. Through Hands Off Colorado, we informed thousands of people in Longmont, Boulder, Fort Collins, Estes Park, and other Pride events across the state about the anti-trans and anti-immigrant policies that will be on Coloradans’ ballots in November. To learn more about these ballot measures and sign up to help defeat them, visit the Hands Off Colorado page.
In other Pride news:
RMEQ has worked with officials across Northern Colorado to bring Pride Month proclamations to local communities. From Boulder and Longmont to Broomfield, Lyons, Loveland, Greeley, Fort Collins, Adams County, Superior, and beyond, we were there, standing alongside our communities as local governments affirmed LGBTQ+ visibility and equality. Thank you to all our local government partners for standing with us this Pride!

3 more things:
The Colorado primary election is June 30, 2026, and RMEQ has been on the front lines in ensuring that our community members have the resources and information they need to participate in democracy. Check out our Colorado Voting FAQs and learn why making a voting plan is so important.Â
RMEQ has joined groups across the country to mobilize opposition to new federal housing rules that would discriminate against transgender and nonbinary people, worsening LGBTQ+ housing disparities and turning people away from assistance they need to secure safe and affirming housing. You can help fight back against the implementation of this discriminatory proposal by making a public comment before June 29.
RMEQ is also working to defend equality in public education, joining over 60 organizations across the country in a movement letter calling on the U.S. Congress to defend equal rights for LGBTQ+ students, rather than attacking protections and opening the door to discrimination and harassment. Read the letter here.Â
