Join us for a chance to hear directly from the people running to shape our local schools! You'll get to meet the candidates, learn where they stand on important issues like student mental health, bullying prevention, inclusion, accessibility, the politicization of classrooms, and safety in schools. RSVP here.

A respected community leader will moderate the conversation with questions, helping highlight each candidate’s priorities and approach. This is a nonpartisan, free and open event to help our community vote with confidence. Your voice matters. The doors to this event open at 1:30pm.

Moderated by: State Board of Education Member, Kathy Gebhardt. Kathy Gebhardt is a lifelong champion of public education, deeply connected to Colorado's Boulder Valley Schools as both a graduate and the parent of five children who attended schools in the district. Inspired by her family’s commitment to public service, she has spent decades volunteering in schools, serving on district committees, and working to expand equitable opportunities for students.

Her leadership includes eight years on the Boulder Valley School Board of Education—two as president—as well as key roles with the Colorado and National School Boards Associations. As an attorney, she has contributed to landmark cases, including Giardino v. State of Colorado, which helped secure more than $3 billion in school facility investments across the state.

Today, in addition to her advocacy, Kathy teaches education law at the University of Denver and the University of Colorado, preparing the next generation of leaders to continue advancing equity in education. With her blend of personal experience, professional expertise, and steadfast commitment, she remains a vital voice for students, families, and educators across Colorado.
