BIO
Io is Rocky Mountain Equality’s Education and Training Coordinator, supporting RMEQ’s education and training initiatives, curriculum development, community engagement, and material development through research and close work with the Education and Training Manager, Castro.
Io’s former role as a Research and Public Affairs Analyst with RMEQ lends a background in education policy, research, and skills in legislative analysis to her current role. Within this role, she was responsible for holding RMEQ’s 2025 School Board Candidate Forums and supporting other policy research and advocacy needs.
Io earned her BA in Media Studies and minor in Journalism from theUniversity of Colorado Boulder, and worked as Head Visuals Editor and photographer for The CU Independent newspaper, centering community events and long-form projects engaging with social issues. Her strong commitment to civil rights protections and addressing systemic inequities is guided by the belief that compelling storytelling has the power to drive meaningful change.
Outside of work, you can find Io drinking overpriced lattes, making Pinterest digital collages, and playing with her girlfriend's cats. She also runs a small photography business of nine years, that sometimes assists with RMEQ events.
