BIO
Io is a Research Associate at Rocky Mountain Equality, conducting policy research, legislative analysis, and administrative coordination to support advocacy efforts. With a strong commitment to civil rights protections and addressing systemic inequities, her work centers on advancing policies that foster equity and inclusion.
Io earned her BA in Media Studies with a minor in Journalism from the
University of Colorado Boulder, where she developed strong researchand analysis skills and journalistic media knowledge. As the Head Visuals Editor for The CU Independent, she managed editorial
coordination, content planning, and production under tight deadlines,
centering community events and longform projects engaging with social issues. Their background informs their ability to translate complex policy issues into accessible narratives that drive awareness and
action. Their work is guided by the belief that compelling narratives—whether in policy, media, or advocacy—have the power to drive meaningful change.
Outside of work, you can find Io drinking overpriced lattes from abundantly cute cafes, playing with her girlfriend's cats, and running a small photography business of nine years.
