Description of the WorkÂ
The People & Culture Generalist will run the functions of the human resources department including staffing/recruiting, onboarding, offboarding, employee relations, workforce administration, compensation research, employee benefits, talent management, and employee engagement through the lens of RMEQ’s values and culture. It is a collaborative and dynamic professional hands-on position.Â
Key Responsibilities
Staffing/Recruitment - Responsible for the staffing process from start to finish, including job descriptions, compensation analysis, job postings, the jobs@rmequality email, screening candidates, interview processes, reference checks, applicant management, background checks, and offer letters; collaborates with hiring managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
Onboarding - Manages new hire onboarding including new hire paperwork, payroll set-up, benefits enrollment, and employee handbook/policies; coordinates onboarding activities with hiring manager and others involved in the process
Offboarding - Coordinates the exit interview process, completes the exit interview, ensures company property is returned, files resignation letter, manages COBRA offerings, and coordinates COBRA participation with Finance for payment
Compliance - Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance; ensure FLSA rules when determining new positions
Programs - Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation research and analysis, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; and training and development
Employee Records - Maintains employee records and personnel files, ensuring completion and accuracy of details such as employee contact information, job classification, pay rates, and other key details
Employee Benefits - Administration of employee benefits and manages the benefits broker relationships
Payroll - Back up for payroll processing and changes within the payroll system
Required Qualifications
Commitment to the vision, mission, and values of RMEQ
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Good knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; CultureAmp+
Proven ability to manage confidential and sensitive information discreetly
Ability to work effectively and respectfully with people of different races, ethnicities, gender identities, gender expressions, sexual orientations, religions, abilities, and ages
Job offer is contingent upon successful completion of a background check
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, related field, and minimum of 5 years’ experience in human resources; experience in non-profit environments preferred. RMEQ will consider applicants with all levels of education, lived experience is valued along with work experience, and formal education.
