This year, we celebrated the 6th annual Lunar New Year in collaboration with Monarch High School’s AASIA Club (Asian American Student International Association) and, for the first time, CU Boulder’s Asian Unity Club. Our celebration and potluck took place at Kittredge Central Hall on CU Boulder’s campus, featuring catering from Flower Pepper and delicious food brought by all of you!
A huge thank you to our incredible performers: Shaolin Hung Mei Kung Fu School for their stunning lion dance performance and Q&A session afterward. Crown Dance Crew for lighting up the night with two amazing dance sets and to Ruby Labeija for emceeing and performing a stunning drag number for everyone. Guests connected with new people by asking questions to complete their interactive human bingo cards, and everyone who got a blackout won a special Lunar New Year-themed prize. Asian Unity and AASIA shared the history of our collaboration and how Lunar New Year is celebrated across the world through a Lunar New Year Presentation.
