Summer camp this year was an absolute blast as for the first time, we took more than 30 participants at Calwood Education Center in Jamestown.
Our activities included tree climbing, fire ecology, and stewardship- which involved learning about factors that contribute to wildfires and how we can help as well as planting native bushes along a creek to avoid soil erosion, wilderness survival, teambuilding, pond ecology, and plenty of crafts! We got to make wire mini bonsai trees, leather pouches, ice dye bandanas, create wood cookies, and try our hand at embroidery.
The weather started very warm, but we got the absolute pleasure of a very foggy and chill end of the week to finish it up as we cooled down from the August heat. We enjoyed a couple of nights around the campfire and rotated between evening activities, tarot readings, crafts, and voguing in the woods. A huge thank you to our host, Calwood Education Center for another fantastic year!
