BIO

Riley McKelvy, MSW (she/her) is a social worker and the Community Programs & Strategic Operations Lead at Rocky Mountain Equality. A dedicated advocate for behavioral health equity and housing justice, Riley has built her career advancing access, dignity, and sustainable systems of care for LGBTQ+ communities and other historically marginalized groups.

Riley earned her Bachelor of Science from Northeastern University and later completed her Master of Social Work, with an emphasis in organizational leadership and policy practice, at the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work. Her experience spans direct service, program management, and enterprise-level behavioral health strategy. She has contributed to statewide initiatives focused on maternal mental health, LGBTQ+ cultural competency, and harm reduction efforts, as well as supported the research and development of a national behavioral health provider training program to strengthen culturally responsive mental health care delivery to LGBTQ+ populations.

Riley previously served at Rocky Mountain Equality as both Case Management Coordinator and Behavioral Health Program Manager, leading rapid-access mental health and peer-led recovery programs rooted in trauma-informed practice. She later expanded her equity work internationally in Dublin, Ireland, where she supported asylum seekers in securing and sustaining long-term housing and employment. In her current role at Rocky Mountain Equality, Riley oversees adult (18+) LGBTQ+ community programming and strategic operations with a focus on integration, access, and long-term community impact.

Outside of work, Riley can be found regularly starting new hobbies, window shopping at fancy grocery stores, and taking long walks with her long-haired miniature dachshund, Ozzy.
