Micah Caswell serves as Rocky Mountain Equality’s Director of Communications and Strategic Initiatives. They began their career working as a volunteer with local and statewide LGBTQ+ advocacy organizations in Louisiana over a decade ago and bring experience creating and executing communication strategies for nonprofits, political parties and candidates, the Louisiana governor’s office, and a leading health care system in the state of Louisiana.

Most recently, Micah served as the Senior Communications Manager for a national nonprofit that works with large private employers and public entities to improve the health care benefits offered to workers and plan members, as well as advocating for health care policies to improve affordability and access. They hold a Master of Arts in communication studies and a Bachelor of Science in marketing from Louisiana State University. 

While living in Louisiana, Micah taught accessible yoga classes. In their free time, they still enjoy exploring movement and breath, as well as playing video games and spoiling their rescue pup.
